Keep Learning with TMG’s Power Lunches and Webinar

As a non-profit, TMG values learning and professional development just as much as you do.  That’s why we are adding four new Power Lunches to our fall training schedule.  Each session is designed to be highly interactive and to provide participants with practical skills they can take away and put to use the next day.   Our Power Lunches are also a great way to network and meet new people in the community.

First, TMG is hosting three Power Lunches at the Nonprofit Center located at 89 South St., Boston (right near South Station). Each session will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 pm and participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.  TMG will provide drinks and light snacks. We will cover some basic skills, channel the group’s wisdom by discussing participants’ unique challenges, and present the signs and symptoms that indicate if you can do it yourself or if you need to hire outside help. Here’s what we have lined up:

9/13 “Just in Time Mediation”
Are you a manager who needs to intervene in conflict between your direct reports? Are you an individual contributor who always seems to gets roped into others' conflicts? “Just in Time Mediation” will give you easy-to-use skills to “frame the issue” for discussion, help people to really hear each other, and begin moving toward agreement. We’ll share DIY tips, as well as indicators that you may need help.

10/4 “What is Coaching and How Can You Use it?”
The term “coaching” is used all the time, but what does it mean and how can you effectively use it in an organization? We’ll review what it is and isn’t, cover a basic skills and approaches, and discuss when and where it can be used effectively.

11/15 “We’ve Got to Start Meeting Like This!”
Good meetings don’t just happen - they result from good leadership, training and planning. We’ll review how to plan meetings, who to invite, skills to manage common team dynamics, and how to ensure you reach decisions that result in action. Suitable for managers and others who regularly run meetings.

12/13 “Organizational Climate Assessment” We wrap up our series with a webinar on 12/13 at 10:00 am.
