Amy Gordon (BA, Boston University), Principal and Chief Operating Officer, joined The Mediation Group in 1998, initially as an administrator, and later as a member of the organization’s executive team. Amy’s education and professional background prior to joining TMG was in special education and public service. Her public service experience included local hunger relief efforts, human rights work and legal research for Central American refugees seeking legal immigration status in the United States.
Over the years, Amy’s role at TMG has grown, and she has become an essential and integral part of all aspects of the organization’s operations. She is responsible for management of day-to-day operations, financial oversight and management, supervision of administrative staff and interns, and coordination of projects and initiatives throughout the organization. Amy was a member of a delegation to China in 2010, participating in a cross-cultural training on dispute resolution techniques and strategies. She has been involved in a number of grant-funded projects focused on dispute resolution in the field of health care. In 2014, The Mediation Group recognized Amy’s role by making her the first new principal since the three founding principals established the organization in 1985.
